Fitzwater Joins National Bank Board

James G. Rakes, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank, is pleased to announce the election of Norman V. Fitzwater to the National Bank Board of Directors.

Mr. Fitzwater is president of A Cleaner World dry cleaning business in Blacksburg. Established in 1992, the business offers dry cleaning with convenient drive-through, express bag and night drop services. The Blacksburg A Cleaner World location has consistently been the top-performing location out of the approximately 50 franchise and company stores in North Carolina and Virginia.

Prior to opening his Blacksburg dry cleaning business, Mr. Fitzwater was involved in the management and operation of several furniture manufacturing companies in Virginia and North Carolina.

“Norman brings a tremendous amount of small business experience and community involvement to our bank,” remarked Chairman Rakes. “We’re very happy that he has accepted a position on our board and look forward to working with him.”

Mr. Fitzwater is President of the Blacksburg Hokie Club and is a current member of the Blacksburg Partnership, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Blacksburg United Methodist Church. He and his wife Joyce reside in Blacksburg and have two married daughters and a young granddaughter who also live in Blacksburg.
