Heartbleed Bug Security Threat

You may have seen news stories about the the Heartbleed Bug, a defect in the "Open SSL" encryption technology used by some websites to secure users’ personal or financial information.

National Bank has confirmed that our Internet and Mobile banking services do not use the affected Open SSL technology and are not currently threatened by this bug. We share your concern about this important security issue and we will continue to work with security experts to test our systems for any vulnerabilities.

As a customer, you can help protect yourself by updating your bank password every few months. Also, monitor your account regularly and report suspicious transactions to the bank immediately. Beware of phishing scams (e-mails with malicious links) that will attempt to get additional sensitive information from you.
