James G. Rakes, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Bankshares, Inc., is pleased to announce the promotion of Lara E. Ramsey to Senior Vice President/Administration.
A native of Lebanon, Virginia, Mrs. Ramsey is a graduate of Radford University with a bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Economics and a master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She is also a graduate of the Virginia Bankers Association’s School of Bank Management, the American Bankers Association’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking, and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.
Mrs. Ramsey joined the bank in 1996 as Personnel Manager and was promoted to Human Resources Officer in 1998 and Vice President/Human Resources in 2001. In announcing the promotion Chairman Rakes said, “Lara is a talented and experienced professional who works very hard for our company. This promotion recognizes her expertise, long-term commitment and countless contributions to the success of National Bankshares.”
Mrs. Ramsey currently resides in Radford with her husband, Sean, and son, Benjamin. She is actively involved with the United Way of Montgomery, Radford and Floyd, where she serves as Panel Chair of the Community Investment team and is a past Board Member. Mrs. Ramsey is also a former Board Member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
