National Bank and its employees have helped over 35 local children have a special holiday this year by purchasing gifts for the Salvation Army of the New River Valley Angel Tree.

"Adopting a Salvation Army Angel is a holiday tradition that we look forward to every year," said National Bank Executive Chairman, James G. Rakes.  “I’m pleased that our generous employees have helped those in need have a brighter holiday season once again this year.”

In addition to the toys and clothing given by the bank’s employees, National Bank gave a monetary donation to support the programs of the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program solicits community support to provide toys and clothing for local children whose Christmas requests might otherwise go unanswered. The Salvation Army of the New River Valley serves needy families in Floyd, Giles, Montgomery and Pulaski Counties as well as the City of Radford.
